Welcome Aboard...

I really REALLY hope it wasn't a big $$$ amount of work you did...

It's gonna take a garbage truck full of Jacksons to get that boat wet..

Sorry...Others with a lot more OMC knowledge will pull in and give you a much better break down of your situation..

Ayuh,.... Other than the Fact that OMC is out of business,+ parts are NLA,...
You did just Fine....

I don't do OMCs, so I'll defer any absolutes in my post,...
But,...
I believe the King Cobra is the least liked drive,+ the Volvo swap isn't going to work for you...

You'll probably do Better by scrapping out the Whole OMC driveline,+ go back together with a Complete Volvo, or Mercruiser driveline...

Re: raw deal?

As far as value, regardless of the drive, old fiberglass boats are valued at 80% engine & drive, 20% hull (or less).

I agree with Bond-o. Sell the OMC/King Cobra stuff and go Merc or Volvo. There's no sense resurrecting busted OMC, and I bet you'll get top dollar for the parts seeing as they're pretty tough to come by.

I bet HTB will stop by soon, he has done a 460 King Cobra to Merc swap, has the T-shirt and everything.....

I don't know what year the Chris Craft is, but those boats seem to hold value pretty well. Also, that situation with the engine is unfortunate, however, I would not be too down and out about it. If anything, sell the hull and recoup some of the losses.
I would personally keep the hull and throw a Merc in there.
