Advices for a problem with my motor

The problem is that something drilled the block from the upper piston, you can see from the hole the piston the viela, and they don't have a damage, the engine start without the top, and when I put to top it doesn't work anymore, I want to kno if somebody can help me with that. The motor is a Johnson 60hp VRO.

I'm guessing english isn't your first language... I'm trying to make out exactly what you're saying... Just to verify... Are you saying that someone drilled a hole through the block into the cylinder and that you can see the piston through the hole?

If removing the "top" (meaning the hood?) improves the the motor's performance, I would suggest you have an exhaust leak.

Or it is arcing out on the hood maybe ??
