Anyone have an exhaust stretcher? My exhaust pipe is too short.

I recently dropped an alpha rear-end in my boat. I've converted my armstrong steering to power steering. My latest hiccup is that the exhaust tube is now short 4" from reaching my exhaust riser elbow. It appears that the exhaust riser elbow and the exhaust tube line up... the tube is just too short.

The boat was originally set up for a mercruiser 140. Now it's sporting a 470. Is there an alpha 470 exhaust tube that's longer? Is there something else I can do to get it connected?

A section of "wet exaust hose" cut to length will work.

Ayuh,... Just a Longer hose might due,... I'm not familiar with the 470s...

Measure the diameter and check with your local boat shop. They may have the hose and sell it by the foot (or inch in many cases).
Or they can order it by the foot

What size?

They come in 4, 6, 8, and 10's.

Anything larger and you'll have to Special Order.

Their in the same aisle as the wire stretchers.

I used 3" smooth bore rad hose to connect from my OMC Stringer headers to the stationary thru hull fittings. It's rated at 300? F, so is fine for a water/exhaust mix. It's readily available in various sizes from most automotive hose supply shops.
