Hello, I have a 16 Ft. carolina skiff that I just bought. It has a Suzuki 2005 25hp outboard, which has a 4 blade plastic prop. I want to change to a 3 blade ,but am not sure of the proper pitch. The boat is all open and will only haul fishermen. Just looking for the best all around prop for this purpose.
Thanks, Bruce

Re: 25hp proper pitch ?

Is the suzuki a 4 stroke? How does the performance feel with the present prop?
Without present prop size (usually on the barrel or under the prop nut) ,max rpm and speed specs its difficult to pick a prop. A guess ;12" pitch.
You should read the stickies at the top of the page and the helps at the prop store page.

Re: 25hp proper pitch ?

Yes its a four stroke, the plastic prop has 4 blades and does OK, but I want to go to an aluminum. I use it in florida on the flats, not good for plastic.Since I don't have an old one to look at,I'm not sure of the pitch. There's 4or 5 pitches to choose from.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks, Bruce

I guess lacking the info I would start with a 12" prop.
You might check and see if the Turning Point Rascal comes in a size for your motor.Stainless performance at Aluminum prices.
