So thats how it works more land more boats.

Well I got 65 acres and how do I explain this to the wife ?

How many per acre are we allowed ?

I can feel the stimulus plan working now :D

Re how many allowed per acre - Figure it just like cattle - How many acres does it take to support just one.

Re: Starcraft Fever

The brand x boat has a 50 hp suzuki that has been "gone through by a shop" and is supposed to run good........ The seller made me an offer for both boats and both trailers that was fairly low.

Hmmmmmmmm ?????

Bob, I think thats the place I stopped looking for parts on my way home from Vergennes a few weeks ago... I was tempted to pick one up while I was there, but my wife didn't think it was appropriate to buy a boat on the way home from a funeral!

You are talking about Erikson's yup right outside Vergennes. He has a selection of project boats too. The most recent starcraft SS is by Bomoseen about an hour south of Vergennes.

Good choice not stopping on the way home.

Now Bob did someone try making a whaler out that poor boat, or was it going to be a tug?

So how many boats per acre are we suppose to have ?

Re: Starcraft Fever UPDATED W/pictures

OKAY UPDATE TIME

Here I sit thinking real hard..... That 16' Supersport is still there and it needs everything. No seats, steering, trashed trailer, rotted deck, lots of lovely green moss growing all over it. The guy told me he did NOT have any papers on it. Tomorrow I am going to hit DMV and speak to them. I want to find out how and if I could register it....... if they say yes I can..... oh boy then I have a bigger bridge to cross. I think I will put my starcraft nassau on the block for sale (yes mine is a nassau ;)) and chase this Super Sport.

I explained to my wife that both boats would require the same amount of work. Watching North Beach and Kevin and Matt and oh the list goes on inspires me. ezmobee is REALLY to blame  he has said quite a few times that a SS would be nice and I like the open bow. I have a V-4, steering, controls and seats on hand.....

I'll keep this updated. I will not promise a Concours d'Elegance rebuild but I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

I am headed to bed and I will even say a small prayer for DMV ;)

Kev you havent helped that fella out yet with the SS . I figure you already have a big Starcraft so a nice Small SS would be perfect as a second Starcraft :D:D.

I'm gonna be in serious trouble if that thing gets near 800 bux..lol

I was half thinking "How hard could it be to notch my bow and make it a walk through"...But for 800 bux I can just buy something else, like this one.

Kev it already is $800 you just havent gone and shown him the pictures of Ben yet :D. My Jupiter was listed for $1000.00 ( OBO ) <<< thats the important part :D. I walked away with it for 8 pictures of Ben even after he told me his wife said he needed to get at least $900 for it :D:D.

Re: Starcraft Fever UPDATED W/pictures

Oh I know I can prob get it for 8 Franklins...I just don't WANT to know I can get it for 800..if that makes sense...
That little 14 foot blue Jupiter (?) is still out there and I bet I can still go get her for 350 max...but..

Ignorance is bliss sometimes..

Kinda like thinking that young girl is winking at ya..But you dont WANT to know, cause ya cant do anything about it..lol

I know Diane's answer will be to SELL THE ONE YOU GOT..and I am not there yet...Think I am gonna start a secret slush fund from my work reimbursements for boat emergencies like this..lol

Kev dont forget in the slush fund you will need a little extra for a storage place for the next one till you get SWMBO onboard :D;). Mine is about done with boats herself ( granted I have drug 4 home this summer ) ROFLMAO but she did hobble out to the driveway tonight and peer over the side of the jupiter to see what I was up to in there :D:D.

Re: Starcraft Fever UPDATED W/pictures

With the last two I picked up, I have 6 in all. (And I don't even have an acre).
With a Starchief, SS, Sea Scamp, and then a Grumman, Duratech and one Duranautic, the yard is about full. The bad part is I just found a super nice 18' Holiday that will most likely be coming my way.
I sold the 63 Jupiter, and might thin the herd a bit more before long.
The SS and the Duratech will be my permanent keepers, along with my Grumman SSF. I'll most likely be letting the 67 Starchief go since it's the least usable for fishing the river here.
I really hate to let go of the Starchief, but the SS is too close to being done, and the Duratech is also an easy rebuild. The Starchief will need a new rear deck, paint, and the motor has no power tilt. My plans for that were to strip it down, put in a new deck, new seats, some new paint and repower it with a newer motor. The 1976 Evinrude 135 supposedly runs but I've never messed with it.
I have $1500 in it the way it sits, on a newer full roller trailer with new tires and rims last fall. I really never thought I'd sell it but my fishing habits have changed, my truck likes the smaller boats better and it's the only boat that won't fit in the new garage I have planned. (Local ordinances won't let me build a garage tall enough to hold it here).
I hate to think that if I do all the work on that boat it will have to sit outdoors.
I did have an offer to swap just the boat for a newer motor, I may still take that deal, then sell the trailer to recoup my money.
The worst part is that I searched for years to find that boat.
Especially one that's not been in saltwater.

(How many boats per acre is simply a matter of how many you can get away with before the neighbors balk or the township passes an ordinance against boats).
