Re: How do I locate the manufacturer of my boat

Look for the HIN Hull Identification Number which is "normally" Located on the transom and stamped into the outside near the top.

The HIN uses 3 letters and numbers. The first 3 letters are the MIC Manufacturer Identification Code

Google USCG MIC Database and you will get the link to look it up.

Welcome to iboats!! ;)

I looked and there are no identifying numbers on the transom

The registration has a number in the HIN area but has no letters involved.
There is also a TC section with numbers only.

The registration says it is a 1965

Thanks,
Bill

Post a few photos and maybe someone will recognize it's make. Aluminum Trihulls are rare..... very rare.... I do not think I have seen one now that I think about it. Post the pictures.

Wow that is a unique boat. I like it.

I have no idea but I will keep looking. Are the seams welded? Being an "older" boat I would be concerned about the floatation being water logged which would add weight.

What is the deck made of? Is it aluminum or wood?

Would love to see some more photos of the transom under the splashwell.

I looked and this has me stumped.

Hello All

Thanks for the replies.

It may look like a Boston Whaler but that is about it.

There is no built in flotation.
The transom is ALL REINFORCED aluminum

The hull is welded aluminum.
The deck area has plywood sections with fiberglass cloth.
The deck covering is carpet (that needs to be replaced)

It is ONE TOUGH HULL!

Wanna sell it? Just kidding...sorta. Many work boats of that era were built by independant boat yards, typically building larger boats. Often a customer would request a one-of smaller boat which had a specific purpose. I'm guessing it's a custom build.

I am a salesman at heart.

If the price was right, I could see this fine vessel in someone else's capable hands!
