The boat is a 1984, that's all I can give you from the HIN. The Volvo may or may not be an 84. Pictures might help, motor and drive.

Re: Identification first off

That VIN is actually a HIN (Hull Identification Number) Has nothing to do with the engine. Only the hulll. To find out if it's original or not, call Bayliner toll free at 877-861-6494. Give them your HIN and they can tell you exactly what the boat came with. Including SN's and Model Numbers.

As far as the AQ125A/270, yeah, that was a popular engine back then. If you go to the top of this post, you will see a link to Volvo Penta Pars. It's the official VP online parts lookup. Can't do any better without going to a dealer.
You can also download the OEM owners manuals for your engine and drive at this Volvo link.

I also have links to the oem service manuals for your engine and drive.

Drive = http://www.4shared.com/account/file/51930153/3a7e6375/270_Outdrive_service_manual.html

the info above should keep you occupied for an hour or so.

pics of AQ125A/270. More in the link. Very popular, as Don wrote. I believe 84 or 85 was the end of them. Then the AQ131A(2.3L), AQ125B, and AQ140A.

Re: Identification first off

Well, there are pics in my link, but I believe the only the '83 had the tan color scheme. Standard back to back port and starboard and a motorbox with jump seats (I hate them, they take up tp much room!)

After that, I believe the blue and white took over....
