hi,i was wondering if anyone could tell me if my motor is going to be o.k.Im a little worried about it when i started it i realized i didnt have the muffs on the motor hooked up with water.I ran for about 3 or 4 seconds until i shut motor off.scared the heck out of me,hopefully its o.k.started it again and everything seems to be o.k.Not sure if this would have caused any damage or not. Thanks!

You should be ok. As long as you havent revved it up to like full throttle for those 3 or 4 seconds.

no it was set a little above half throttle plus the motor was cold on choke so it didnt have a chance to get to full throttle yet .Thanks for your reply and calming my nerves.

I never had much confidence in muffs. I always like to use a barrel. It's a good piece of mind and you can fill it up, until your water pump level is submerged:cool:

trav ,dont run your motor out of the water past idle your asking for major grief!you may get away with it a few times but sooner or later your going to be looking for a new motor.

Obviously dry running isn't good...which you are aware of. Are you OK....????

Who knows, but if you have not replaced the impeller in the last three years, it is clearly now due!
