65 Johnson/ 70 evinrude

Hope someone can help me with info.
I have a 1973 65hp Johnson hydra shift with a screwed leg. And thanks to an unhonest individual I now have a 1981 70hp evinrude with no compression. Can I take the leg from the evinrude and put it on the Johnson if I change it as a complete unit.

no the will not match up. pull the heads on the 70 and see what is wrong.
