Steering cable or kit replacement question?

Pulled the steering control box ( hacksaw and torch and lots of PB Blaster) out today due to gears stripping, found the old Morse 304411 cable to work perfectly.
Should I replace the cable, or just buy just the new Teleflex control, avoiding the all in one kit?

btw: I had to fight to turn the boat, now the steering control gears have failed.

What would you do?

Buy the kit and get the cable and helm...

Well, went with the kit, then found out the Yamaha Motor has to be pulled to install the cable. WTF?

What a Bit$h, its now at the mechanics, $$$$$.
