Re: Kid Rock

His parents live on lakeville lake here in michigan. i spent alot of summers on that lake and ran into him a few times out there very nice laid back guy, The boat that he's driving in his "summer time" video is his dads, has "cowboy" on the back of it, never seen him out driving it, but always in the water on his boat hoist.

Ruining a skynyrd song???!!! LOL i like skynyrd but.. You should be thanking him for blowing the dust off them and putting there music back out there. i go to KR concert every year he puts on a great show. Last years show skynyrd opened for kid rock bad a** show! and cant wait for this year.

Re: Kid Rock

I hear more Waren Zevon in that song than Skynyrd. Either way Kid Rock is paying royalties on what he borrowed.
As for celebrities on the water the best I can do is say that I met a CFL running back at the dock one evening. He was too big to get in my little boat or I would have taken him fishing. :)

Re: Kid Rock

I guess I'm wondering what he added to the song. He "borrowed" two songs and then sang over them with a two-note melody that's pretty much note for note the insipid chorus from "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." No imagination required.

I liked a lot of his early stuff, but I'm glad the local radio has finally stopped playing "All Summer Long."

I run into them all the time with work. They're just regular people for the most part. Some are nice, some aren't. I've met Kid Rock as well. I can't say I formed an opinion.

Can't say I'm too crazy about his music, but from what I hear, he's a nice guy. A couple guys I know were playing guitar in a dive bar in Detroit and Kid Rock showed up unexpectedly, said he thought they sounded good, and hung out with them a little bit.

Re: Kid Rock

I once filmed Kid Rock at the 2009 Celebrity Basketball Game at Lake Orion High School; He made two free throws that won the game for his team.
Lloyd Carr was there, along with Braylon Edwards, Cory Schlesinger, Herman Moore, Lomas Brown and many others.
The event was hosted & referreed by former Detroit Tiger Curtis Granderson & his charity organization GrandKids Foundation sent my video to Hollywood to be on the TMZ show.
I was rather impressed!
