I have the opportunity to get a 12' aluminum boat given to me, but there is a catch. This boat was used by the local coal company to check water in ponds created after mining, and were not trailered but instead were tied to a truck with a rope and dragged across fields. The boats look almost new until you turn it over and look at the bottom. In a few places, the aluminum is paper thin and in some cases worn through with narrow gaps. Is this boat worth attempting to coat with gluvit, rhino liner, JB weld, bondo, or whatever. It will only be used with a trolling motor on small lakes or ponds.
