Re: leaking boat

The best of the best of boats will take on water 'somewhere', that is why they have a bilge pump. I have followed a newer triton from ramp and was surprised at how much water poored from boat body, but a lot of fishing boats empty live wells into the bilge and use bilge to outpump water.

That Is The First I've Heard Of Gluvit. Sounds Like A Good Product. Have You Used It Personaly? DOES THE BOAT NEED TO BE UPSIDE DOWN?

Most all of those, work about as good as cylicone. Why pay $20.00 or more for the same fix for $4.00? Make sure that surface is clean,I also scuff area with a wire brush. Some say that "valkum" "not sure of spelling" is a good alternative? I have not used it.

I have heard of some using rhino lining. The same that you would use in the bed of a truck. It can be put on in a smooth finish and is really tough if bumping rocks, etc. Seals things up rather nice too. Good luck sealing yours.

Yes, I have used gluvit on multiple aluminum hulls that I have owned. It does cost money but it is designed for aluminum boats and does the best jom (IMO).

Bedliner is not a leak stop and if you need any future repairs it will create a severe mess. It is best on plywood decks but not on the aluminum.

Moving to restoration

No way. A leaking boat is a boat in a continuous state of sinking and one in need of repair. If you're taking on water, something is wrong!!

Re: leaking boat

On a riveted boat, is it best to coat the inside of the boat or the exterior of the boat with Gluvit? Also, is it better to 'patch' the rivets that are leaking or coat the whole thing...
