I just bought a 1984 Rinker Bowrider. And it came with a impeller kit. Should i replace the impeller? The boat was sitting for about 3 years. And How hard is it to replace it?

If I were you I would replace it. It is not that hard, probably a 2 or 3 hour job for a first timer.

The fact that it has been sitting for so long makes it even worse since they will get a set in the vanes.

sure. you should inspect your impeller once a year per the service manual maint. schedule. you can get one in the adults only sticky at the top of the i/o forum. since it's not real easy to go inspect the impeller, replace it once you get there. also do the housing too on general principles, specially if it's the first time you've done it. that way you know where you stand on its serviceability.

the first time it's kinda challenging. but after you do it a few times, it's not to bad. go by the s/m and follow the instructions. you can remove the lower only off the boat and do it that way. or you can remove the drive and do it on the bench. side benefits of doing it on the bench are it's much easier to reassemble the lower to the upper on the bench + there is other preventative maint. that should be performed once a year too. removing the drive lets you accomplish that also. that, is lub the drive shaft splines, lub the ujoints, inspect the gimble brg. run an alignment check on the coupler and gimble brg. inspect bellows, inspect water hose. probably something i forgot, but the s/m will pick up my slack..
