Hello. I have this outboard Evinrude 6hp 1991 model long shaft and i cannt determine the bolts needed to unscrew in order to reach for the impeller. I have an older service manual (until 1978 models) which says that i also have to remove the powerhead in order to reach for the shifting rod? Does anyone know sth helpful??

Any help?
The service workshop i asked demanded 100 euro to do the impeller change but the impeller itself cost only 12 euros. I think it does not worth to give them these money but i will change it only if i have some help!!

The seller just informed that the delivery time for Greece is 3 weeks. The manual will arrive at some time but meanwhile i need help. I've managed to unbolt the gearcase which came down about 2cm. There is no shift rod pin in view and the gearcase won't come off. I'm missing all the fun (grrrrrr) and i think I should pay the workshop the money they asked in order to go fishing.....unless someone has any idea!!!!!

Ok. The service manual is still on its way. I managed to pull out the lower unit. Apparently in this model thre is no shift rod connector. It was just rust avoiding the sfift to slide easily and i was afraid to put pressure. For anyone who needs information in the future there are just to bolts over the propeller and one big one (about 15cm) in the front holding the gearcase. The change of the impeller is a piece of cake if i manage to get the right one. As i just realised now the local dealer (has sierra marine products) managed to give me a wrong impeller and i should pay him a visit again tomorrow. Greece is still behind regarding product documentation and after sales service unfortunately. Hopefully they will develop some day!!
