man thats awesome...looks like they put alot of work into it...might have been less work and cheaper to bend some pipes and a little welding (the right way) or at-least close... they got about 200 invested in pt wood and bolts...LOL people will try anything wont they??? hahahahah Ive seen people put wooden pre-fab sheds on toons but nuttin like that...they better seal it with thompsons water seal.........Now all they need is some 24" 1970's era stereo speakers mounted on there

Have you seen what the prices for a T top or wakeboard towers, they are a little rich for my blood. It looks like a well thought out well constructed tower. It probably does weigh more than the OB but something about that photo tells me that was no speedboat to start off with.

Re: Redneck Wakeboard Tower

now that's funny I don't care who you are.
Those guys probably have one of those free boats: 1970's vintage bowrider. They clearly put a lot of skill into building the tower, which is the fun of it: a ridiculously over-engineered device. Better they put theri energy into that than sittnig around in the A/C somewhere playing video games.
But still, I might not let them near my daughters....

Good American kids with their priorities set right.
Having fun instead of worrying what the Marina queens think.

After all, if it ain't fun, why bother?

Re: Redneck Wakeboard Tower

I am sometimes amazed what the clever fellow can do with 2x4's and some bolts.

I see ZERO wrong with this, that sucker looks solid; Turning some old tri-hull (which was a used boat when their Daddys were their age) into a feasible wakeboarder? It shows some forethought, initiative, skills, and boating-fun priorities. It looks like they knew EXACTLY what they needed, and built it themselves without the 'Marine' pricetag! Makes me durn proud of America, I tell ya! (Not really kidding at all)

I say, "Hats off to them!!!" Boys having fun. The world can use some more Rednecks.

Notice the bow rail moved to the rear? I can't belive that boat is floating as high as it is with a picnic table on top of it and 5 big boys or is that a chick in the passenger seat?

Where are the stereo speakers? The could have fabricated those out of wood too.

I would give some good points for their hard work. look at it from a different prespective. They thought of it and went to work and the final result is what they put into it. I would say a job well done!!! Don't be too fast to judge them for they are the future 'enginerer' and what not. Well Done Boys!!!

Re: Redneck Wakeboard Tower

well if the idea was to make the boat heavier to make a bigger wake, that should do it!
