mercury black max 150 question

I have a older 150, think 1984. I was told to use 1 quart of oil to 6 gallons of gas for the mixture. Does this sound right. Its seems to smoke quite of bit. Just got the boat.Need correct mixture please. Also the boat pulls to the right.Which way can i move the trim tab to correct this

No, that should be 1 pint to 6 gal of gas. (50:1). Turn the trim tab in the direction of the pull a little at a time until the pull is gone. Oil should be rated TCW3

Thanks, no wonder it was smoking bad. Twice as much oil than needed. Probally got half a tank full of gas left.
