1985 evinrude 6 HP ??

hey guys I bought an evinrude 6 HP 2 stroke, i runs great and starts on the first pull but it smokes a lot mostly white smoke though. i ride dirt bikes so I am sort of familiar with 2 stroke motors and know that thats pretty common. I am mixing 100:1 could that be the problem? the previous owner told me he ran it like that too and it has a sticker on it as well that says 100:1..pleas help fellas

First off, Evinrude changed the 100:1 recommendation on those motors back to 50:1 after some issues with oil related failures after long storage. The 100:1 sticker was supposed to have been removed. The smoke is probably normal; I'd look at the plugs to make sure they don't look "steam cleaned", which would indicate water getting in the cylinders. A compression check wouldn't hurt, either.
