My son purchased his first boat

A 1986 Bayliner...title says its a 15 foot, I/OBD (has a 4-cylinder Volvo?) RUNABT (has the open-bow)

Are there any service manuals or owners manuals available online?...
the boat came with no manual...

Also...can the trailer tires be changed at home like a motorcycle tire? (i've done 100's of those)....or do they need to be done at a tire place?

Tires can be changed, just make sure you buy actual TRAILER tires, not passenger car tires (I think it has something to do with the sidewall and the amount of weight they can bear).

As far as user manuals, for the engine and drive, SELOC and others can be found on ebay, and other sites, and your local West Marine or Mom-and-Pop boating store. The boat itself might be a little harder to find a manual, but, basically, it's just fiberglass. All the guts are in the engine and drive.

To help... The Outdrive will have a data plate on it with the serial and model number. The same can be found on the engine (on mine it is on one of the valve covers, kind of near the front). Once you have that, hit the motor and drive section of the forum for the I/O's and you will get more information than any one person can process.
