I found it in a field and am going to try to get it operational. dose anyone know what it is. i know it is an Orlando clipper but a model would be nice. its been stripped and most markings covered up. it seems solid just needs some work. any help would be nice, like where to get parts for everything mechanical and interior.

now go back and resize them to fit the forum. people will not scan back and forth to read your thread. it is a Orlando Clipper Brand bowrider, with out clear title it is useless.

cool fishing boat- depending on your state you may be able to register it through a lengthy process. in NY it isnt TOO bad. however, since you dont even have steering, it will take a bit of money to make that into a boat...

wHAT KIND OF BOAT IS THAT? WHY, THATS A PIECE O SH@!. JUST KIDDING. I THINK THAT HULL DESIGN MAY BE A TRI-HULL. IT MIGHT BE WORTH THE RESTORATION. AN OLD TRI-HULL DESIGN IS NOT REALLY UNIQUE. CHECK ON LINE FOR PARTS YOU KNOW GOOGLE AND SUCH. BUT YOUR PROBABLY BETTER OFF JUST USEING GENERIC PARTS SUCH AS SEATS AND STUFF ALSO WHATEVER OUTBOARD YOU USE WILL DETERMINE YOUR STEARING AND THROTTLE CONFIGS. USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT.:p HERE'S AN ATTACHMENT THAT MIGHT BE THAT BOAT IN ITS GLORY DAYS. GOOD LUCK.YANKLIP.JPG

Before you even begin to move it, I would rip up a piece of flooring toward the stern and check the stringers for rot. If they need replacement, chances are the transom does as well. In that case I would leave it right where it is. Having sat open, listing to one side, it has trapped water for long periods of time. I believe this boat truly would have to be a labor of love to bother with.

Walk away from it. Even the rub rail is missing. Either someone had dreams of a restoration or they stipped it to junk it.......unless you have an excess of cash just leave it.

Re: What kind of boat is this??

ok so for every one who thinks im going to spend thousands of dollars let me explain something. "One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure" i live by this. my garage (built by my step father and myself) was 99% free and looks like it cost thousands. we are very resourceful.

and about the possible rot we cleared the trash and pulled up the carpet and even lifted the boat and checked the hull. it all seems intact. once we get it to some water we will be able to see if there are any leaks. but it dose not appear so.
i know a lot of people will doubt it but any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
Brendan

When you have it cleared out and determined there are no irrepairable leaks, check for soft spots in the floor, and then check your head for soft spots. Just kidding! That's going to be a lot of work. Before you invest anything make sure you can register it.

It's a Sled! :D Or a Scow! Either way, some peoples garbage are other peoples bread, & butter! but it sure looks like it needs too much work, there may not be a usable piece of wood under that fiberglass anywhere :(

I know that when there's a will there is a way but.... For the cost of the individual components that boat needs (motor, steering, trailer, electric, seats, steering wheel, rub rail, paint, etc..) you could certainly get an old boat and save you time effort and some of the money.

Look in the restoration forum to get an understanding of how serious stringer and transom rot are. not to mention how hard it is to fix. Make sure you know what you are getting into before you start. Just because the hull is solid from the outside doesn't mean there isn't serious structural problems hidden between the hull and the floor.

Leaks are not the problem; structural integrity is. Even if it doesn't leak, I wouldn't puty any more than a 9 on it and use it for a dinghy.
BTW when you register it, you will pay a registration fee, and property taxes, that will exceed the value of the boat.
