ok i got my parts in now and i'm starting to reassembel every thing. I got the gimble bearing back in no porblem there. now i need to start on the bellows and hoses. The manuel isn't real clear on the order to do all this.

1. attach new water hose to bell houseing first.
2. attach u-joint bellow to the transom.
3. attach exhaust tube to transom.
4.start to slide bell houseing back on.
5. attach new wter hose to transom.
6 attach gear oil line to transom.
7. attach u-joint bellow to bell houseing. with sleeve.
8. clamp wires for the trim sender.
9 re attach bell houseing

does this sound like a good order or should they be done in a diffrent order.

This is the order I did it...

5. attach new wter hose to transom.
3. attach exhaust tube to transom.
4.start to slide bell houseing back on.
6 attach gear oil line to transom.
8. clamp wires for the trim sender
9 re attach bell houseing
7. attach u-joint bellow to bell houseing. with sleeve.
1. attach new water hose to bell houseing first.

Or at least that's how I remember it ;) If, I got it wrong, hopefully someone that does this for a living will correct me.

Are you not changing the shift cable and shift cable bellows?

I just did this and I would definitely install the water hose to the transom first. Worked for me anyway

yep figured that out water hose to transom first. You cann't bend it other wise. You will never get it around the shaft bellow.

Any way almost done all bellows are on. I have to go get some lock tight for the bell houseing then i can but the rest toghether and slide the shift cable through. woohoo.

Those hinge pins for the bellhousing are covered with the senders.

I would suggest, as does the manual, that you add one drop of loctite thread sealer. If one backs out, your going to have a terrible day at best.

Exactly, they're covered by the senders...how can they back out far enough to become detached? I guess they could get loose but I'll check them when I pull the drive as part of yearly maint. I'll take my chances...I don't loc-tite anything.

I would agree that often times loctite is over used.

I would also agree the chances are low they would come loose, but what if they do? A yearly inspection might be to late. People do dumb things all the time... I know I do.

I just don't think it's good advise to give others for this application.

Oh, it can be done if you're persistent (and pig headed enough), but you'll only do it that way once...
