It is time to get rid of my Skeeter and get something a little more family friendly that I can still use for fishing and hunting.

A local guy has a 19 foot Seamaster by Renken. He says it is a 98, but I cannot find anything on the net about this model. NADA doesn't have it listed.

Do any of you have any info about this boat?

It has a Motor-guide Brute 756, Eagle depth finder, new bimini top, 96 Johnson 115 SP, and an 8hp Evinrude kicker on a Tee-Nee roller trailer.

They were asking $7500, but negotiated down to $5800. Floor, stringers, plywood, and transom are all solid. I just need info on the boat ...

Didn't you just re-power your Skeeter? Wow time flies!

That was the best I could find on the Renken. ;)

Re: Renken Seamaster

I don't know about newer models but older Renkens were considered an entry level boat. That said, I has an 18 foot closed bow 1982 renken and I found it to be extremely seaworthy. It would take chop and big wakes with no worry and hardly a shudder. Very well riding boat and I would take it anywhere with no qualms. Anywhere of course, within the capabilities of the hull. I would not try to cross the great lakes with it but I would trust it for near shore.

I know Renken Manufacturing ceased to exist in 1995. Renken produced boats in 96, 97, and 98. After that they changed hands etc.

But, this is a 19 foot boat with Seamaster by Renken on the side and the Renken emblem on it. I did not find a year of manufacture, but the title says it is a 1998.

Yep, the Skeeter has been a great little boat for the last 26 years! But the littlest aspeck is the reason for something with sides. Need something that will work for fishing, hunting, and family fun - can't be selfish and hog the boat all to myself anyone!

Thanks for that info, Bob. It is a 98 and it is a UMA ... United Marine Corp. ... now to try to get some values for it ... just still running into a dead end there ... NADA doesn't list anything like it.

Re: Renken Seamaster

Local Marine Dealer (my bro is a mechanic there) told me they sold the boat to the present owner 3 years ago for $9500, and they feel that today it is worth $8000. The engine was rebuilt before they sold it and it hasn't been run much since. So, tomorrow is the sea trial and "make sure it fits in the garage" trial (I have to change the trailer adjustments to make it fit). Will check the compression in the engine and give it a good once over. If all goes well, on Friday I will be the owner of a new to me boat. I will take pictures!
