Hello forum,
I am to the tuning stages of my 1986 125 hp. Force. Last trip to the lake it got up on plane quick, ran all rpm ranges good until wide open. It was starving for fuel. I took home and set the float drop to book specs, retested on the lake and it keeps a steady rpm wide open now but seems like there should be a little more (is getting full throttle.) I dont have a tach and know this will be very helpful but am sure its got more in it. I am only running 30-32 mph and was told it has gone around 40+. It seems to slow down or no increase in mph when I go from 3/4 throttle to wide open. Then only thing not new is the primer bulb (stays firm all day)and all the fuel lines (seems a little oval in shape in a spot) which is on my list (along with a tach.) The last thing is the prop. Very poor condition. It is my back up. Pretty worn and curled up on the end of one blade. Can this be the main problem? Can I loose 10 mph with a worn prop?
Thanks,
