dying at high rpm

hello all just have a couple of questions i have 2001 johnson 200 hp i took the boat out all was good for about an hour then at high rpm the motor bogged down. Did it again and it stalled thought it was the fuel pick up so i cleaned that but took it out today and cruiesed at low speed out of the marine then slowed up a little bit and engine died could not get it to stay running it would start for 10 sec sound real weak then die then tried to give it trottle still would die any ideas thank u one more thing gas tank was empty i filled it before i went out mabye it kicked up dirt and clogged the fuel pick up again

start at the beginning, check compression and spark. 99% you have a fuel issue. clogged pickup, air leak in hoses, weak fuel pump. contaminated carbs. did you winterize the motor last fall?

Certainly sounds like a fuel delivery issue.

Have you tried squeezing the primer bulb when the engine dies.

the problem is clogged jets, from varnish, which is what old gas turns into, when left sitting in carbs, untreated, and it evaporates.

Classic non-winterising issue at the start of the next season. Just did a neighbors 115 Johnson yesterday with the same issue. His pulse line had a split in it as well.

thank u should i clean them or just rebuild then. Today i was looking at the lines and i seen the one cumming off of fuel pump to carbs was a little cracked but not leaking gas could that be prob

cleaned thcarb today they all look preety clean but one had a cracked float coulde that be a prob
