Re: 1977 Evinrude 55

Hi & Thanks for the reply. To be honest - I don't need the entire harness, just the plug. The harness is still on the motor & the motor runs, but the previous owner, for some reason, decided to cut off the plug. I was hoping to find one with pigtails off of a scrap motor of the same vintage so I could rewire it on to the end of the existing harness. I guess I should've been more descriptive. Thanks again

just get some bullet connectors, cut the harness from the control and use the proper size bullet connectors. if you like you can heat shrink them also.

Good Idea - I thought of that or to even use a trailer plug setup. The only problem is that I'm preparing this motor for sale & would like to have the factory plug so whoever buys it can just hook it into their own boat wiring easily. So - if anyone has an old good motor side red plug on a scrap motor with enough wire left for me to splice onto - I would definitely be interested - Thanks Again

Re: 1977 Evinrude 55

bump - I really need this red plug - I can do without the prop - Thanks & I do appreciate this site & all the info - there's no way I could've gotten to where I'm at without it. I love working on ALL outboards and there's nothing like the feeling
of getting an old POS running when it comes in like this one. I love to send it out completely ready for the water! Thanks again & kudos to all that have helped in that past & future. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!
