I have a problem with my classic fifty mercury 45 hp. took it out again and had the same problem as i had the last time with the motor. i was running it all out for about 4-5mins at top speed for it. and all of the sudden the motor would slow down to almost a idle by its self. what could the problem be? got good water pea out of the motor and the block is not hot. you can replie here or shoot me a e-mail at sampler69187@yahoo.com. hope someone can help me out.also does the motor have a thermostat or a poppet value on it?
