I'm in need of trim pump/valvebody and motor. these parts are insanely priced. more than i would think the whole outboard is worth. does any know anyone that has this part cheap? Or, is there something I can use in place of? I was thinking of using an inboard pump and resevoir since a complete unit is just a few hundred bucks. feedback much appreciated.

Check ebay and craig's list. Used parts show up from time to time. You may even want to consider buying a blown engine for parts. A lot of times they go cheep.

Thanks for the reply Marion Moore. I have been searching for used parts for about a year now. Of what can be found, used, these people want 400-600 bucks. Thats just crazy to me. I'm trying to find alternatives before I give up and sell the whole outboard for something I can get decent parts for.
