We'll I'm new here and I'm not a boat mechanic, but I am mechanical and want to learn all about my motor. It's a great little motor and it has always run fine, I push a 16 foot jon boat and we load her down and still plane and move out, so now as I increase speed and just before she planes the engine revs way up but it seems like the prop stops turning:confused:, also she sputters a lot more and I have to pull the choke to keep her cranked:mad:. I don't use this boat a lot. and to be honest over the winter she sat on the boat with the gas tank still connected (I know, I know...for shame). So, long and short I orderd the seloc for this model and my plan is to change the plugs and clean/rebuild the carbureator put it on the stand and run some fresh fuel/seafoam through hear and see what happens. I've never rebuilt a carbureator on anthing before, but I am real good at following directions...anyway, is there anything else I should be doing? and any special way to go about it???? if not I'll let you know how it goes and thanks in advance for the help!

also, prob is a little rough from the oyster beds at cedar key, I should probably have it turned, or replaced, if I do replace, what pitch prop should I go with, I have no Idea what pitch this one is.

thanks
