What did I get ahold of now????????

I wound up with a Montgomery Ward outboard model # GC8971B...... Serial# 75X703689....Can anybody tell me what I got this time. If I keep trading if boat motors and boats I will have to go to a boat class so I will quit having to ask you guys...LOL...... Thank-you

1957...reverse the first two numbers of the serial number to get the year. Don't know what model/hp it is.

That is a Gale 12D15 12 HP motor, shares a lot of parts with the Evinrude 15 of the same time period.

Thank-you guys!!!!!!!!! This site is a grate help!!!!!!! I keep doing trades I might end up with something worth having.. I know that this motor is will turn but don't know about running.. be patient with me I will have more questions for you... Thank-you again
