Hello, my first post.
I've been searching the forums and haven't found the info I need to correctly diagnose my problem. The boat I received was sitting for 3 years so when I got it home I saw it had gas (smelled good) so I turned it over just to see if it would run. It did! I turned it off pretty quick.
I tried it a couple weeks later and it didn't start. Thinking I gummed up the carbs I rebuilt both carbs. Still nothing. I checked both spark plugs and they weren't receiving spark. I checked the spark at the wire, nothing. I checked the resistance through both wires and everything was good. I checked the voltage at the coils and nothing.
I came on here and saw that the yellow/black (mine's yellow and almost a silver?) so I disconnected that and still nothing. I checked the 20A fuse and there's no resistance there. I'm pretty much stuck there. I know I have to check the stator and it's connection to the rectifier but I'm having problems locating it. Besides checking that I'm leaning toward a power pack? This is my first shot at marine repair so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
