Tilt/Trim - Make it Manual

So I put the wires directly to a car battery to see if it was motor or electrical. Is still didn't go up or down. I then proceeded to put the wires back in and tried the trim switch one more time. The wires proceeded to smoke and fry. Still not sure if it was a wiring or motor problem. Now, I'll never find out (without a mechanic), and so I want to turn the tilt into a manual version. Any idea how to accomplish that?

I was going to sell the boat (which is in great cosmetic condition), but I guess that's not going to happen now.

Re: Tilt/Trim - Make it Manual

if you have a 3w motor then never, ever, EVER connect both blue and green wires at same time . If one is hot and the other negative then you have a short circuit. If both are hot then motor is trying to spin in both directions at same time. Either way you probably ruin something.
