I have a 1993 envinrude 90 h.p. 4 cylinder outboard with a vro oil pump. First things first the vro has been disconnected and taken out. I replaced it with a new fuel pump that fits the 88 h.p. model they were the same block my engine just had the vro option. It has been running great since the new fuel pump however the other day i ran it and i had an alarm sound at full throttle. I can turn the boat off and let it sit for about 3 minutes and the alarm stops. During normal operation and cruising speed no alarm sounds it only goes off at full throttle. i premix my fuel so i know the engine is getting oil. The water pump has not been changed in about three years. The vro oil alarm is disconnected. I guess i was just wondering how many alarms are normally on an engine and also has anyone else had this problem? Could it possibly be that the water pump is simply not pumping the required flow at full throttle? Any help would greatly be appreciated. thank you in advance. I also forgot to state that the water pump seems to have adequate flow and the water from the nipple is not hot just warm.
