Re: help need spanner wrench

Well first off remember one important issue. If that motor is tilted up and you remove that cap the pressure will be released and it will come slamming down on you. So make sure it's properly supported before you bust that cap open.
Now, the spanner wrench you need will be available from any dealer but it's gonna' cost you a few bucks. The ones that bankerjohn posted should be a very good alternative but keep in mind that the mating holes do need to be on the money. Anything else and you'll do a ream job that might require some costly replacement parts.
And please takes your caps lock OFF. On a forum it is the equal to yelling.
We can read the smaller print.
I wish you luck on you project. :D

When I did the ones on my Merc, I went to Sears.com. Had it in a few days....$18 bucks!

I made one out of 2- 6" pieces of angle iron. Drill a hole at each end of the angle iron, the same size as the holes in the PTT Cap. Bolt one end of the angle iron pieces together, so they hinge. Install bolts and nuts in the other end of the angle iron. The bolts should be long enough to bottom in the PTT Cap holes.
