what is perfect seal

ok I have a question, what is merc perfect seal and what are its properties? I called 2 local Merc dealers and gave them the part # out of the manual, not only had the partsman never heard of it , niether had ever stocked it. I have never seen anything that cant be sealed by some product by Permatex so I am trying to find an equivilant

well wouldnt you know it,good old avaition form a gasket, wonderfull stuff, I even re used a head gasket with it one time many years ago when I was in a pinch

Don let us in on the Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No. 3 Sealant (perfect seal) a couple years ago and I have used ever since. I use it on gaskets, bolts, flanges, etc. Amazing how easy things come apart 1 year later and how easy it is to clean this stuff up.
