My 70 hp Evinrude motor has three cylinders with three carburetors. The middle piston seems to not be getting gas. It has spark. The motor runs on 2 cylinders and would die when pushing throttle. Sprayed full can of carburetor cleaner with no use. All three cylinders have vacuum over 120#. It has new fuel pump and new spark plugs. Any suggestion what may cause it and how to fix it? Thanks.

Re: Carburator Help Please

Spraying carb cleaner down the throat will do nothing except remove lubrication in the crankcase.

You need to remove and rebuild your carb(s) if it truly is a no fuel problem.

^^^^^^^^^.........only way to correct it. Spray some pre mix it there while cranking to lube the bearings up. then Pull/rebuild the carb.

Re: Carburator Help Please

considering you have anew fuel pump i would go stright for a re-build. sounds like the needle valve may be stuck and not allowing fuel to enter . you can try taping on the carb to see if that lossens the foat or the needle valve ( worked for me before when i was in a pinch). good luck!!
