How many seats do you have... :D

18' boats typically hold 6 passengers. That being said it is more of a weight question than how many people. As Bubba said try contacting the Manufacturer to get a new plate and find out the max weight capacity.

My boat says I can hold 16 people but I can't hold the weight of 16 adults.

Probably a max of 8. My 20 footer is rated for 10 and as I recall the 18 footer I was considering was rated for 8. Figure about 2 less if you don't want to be crammed aboard.

length x width / 15=
use this on the average of 150lbs. per person. Then you can safely calculate the correct total weight your boat can carry. Remember most adults are more than 150 so additional figuring wouold be needed.
Remember that just because it says you can carry X amount of people, you can not exeed the total weight allowed.
So it would be 7 people or x lbs. which ever comes first.
I personaly won't carry more 7 people in my 21 footer. Adults/kids, I like my leg room.
