Hi all,

I've recently "renovated" my boat I've done lots of work to it. Newish engine and outdrive - seats - refinished the wood and so on...

The dog house has no insulation although it is very quiet compared to last year. I know i can improve by adding an insulation on the inside of my fiberglass dog house. (which has only remenace of old insul)

I am attempting to quiet down an OMC inline 6 70's vintage. Any suggestions to which type insulation or barier I should use?

Ya... I've looked into that. The guy wasnet sure if it could handle the heat. He thought it might peel off.

have you tried it yourself?

Re: Help Me Quiet the Dog House

If you don't mind my asking, do you think insulating the dog house will cut down on noise?
I wonder if as an experiment if you just laid two or three heavy blankets over the dog house if you would really hear much difference. If not, doesn't seem like there isn't a lot of use in doing it.

I think I will try what you've said with the blankets. My engine is not REALLY loud or anything. But certainly louder than belts and air intake!

I figured if the old insul1tion was there perhaps I can make it somewhat quieter by putting something back in there.

I have used Dynamat for a number of applications and it works great. Also, Dynamat works wonders to cure those pesky vibrations as well!
