I have taken off the shifter linkage and removes all bolts and the hydrofoil. The lower end does not budge. I get about a 1/8 gap at the front of the lower end and nothing and I do mean nothing at the back. Are there any rods or pins connecting things together. Does the shift rod need to be moved up and down to disconnect something. Any help is appreciated.

There are seven bolts to be removed, including the one holding the trim tab. One of these is hidden above the trim tab.

If you have them all removed and the shift rod is disconnected under the carburetors, then the driveshaft may be stuck in the crankcase.

To disconnect the shift rod, loosen the fulcrom screw in the bellcrank and spread the fingers at the shift rod end; the pin will slip out. Click the thumbnail, please.

That's the bolt hiding above the trim tab holding the gearcase to the mid.
