I've posted a couple questions about this motor that I bought last month, beginning of May...I bought it from a boat rental business who took it off a boat and I picked it up a couple days later. It had been in regular use.

I currently have it standing in my shed but won't be able to mount it on the boat it's going on probably at least until later this summer, maybe September. In the meantime, I have just purchased a new control box, but don't have a wiring harness or cables yet, so I can't really start it up. I'm sure they didn't do anything to it other than unhook it and put it on a stand, and I seriously doubt that they used any fuel stabilizer.

My question is, is there anything I can do with out starting it to prevent the carbs etc. from gumming up? I can spray Deep Creep in the cylinders. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime to insure that it starts up when I'm finally ready to run it?

Thanks.
