Does anybody have any idea what this hole is for?? I searched the entire internet and I can't find an explanation anywhere about it. At first glance, it looks like a chunk was taken out of my gear housing by a rock or piece of metal 
but upon closer inspection it looks more like it's meant to be there. I shined a flashlight inside and it's like a 2 inch tube that goes nowhere, almost like somebody drilled a 2 inch hole with a 1/8" drill bit.
