I have a guy coming to buy my boat at 6! I just had it running and now it won't run anymore. It was running at high revs but as soon as I dropped it down to neutral and went to put it in gear it stalled out and now it won't stay running at all. It starts for a second and dies every time. It'll stay running(barely) if I keep pushing in the choke when it starts to die. I know nothing about boats other than this one has been trouble since I got it. I've never had it on the lake because it's always had something wrong with it! Any ideas what's wrong this time!?

Did you try changing the plugs? it sounds like the plugs might be fouled. or just try cleaning the plugs, not recommended but works sometimes.

WOW!!! Your gonna dump a piece of crap off on somebody else? Get the motor going just long enough for him to think everything works? Create a post in order to get help in dupping some unsupecting buyer? That's what I call BAD BUSINESS  The moderator should close this post!

Re: '72 Chrysler 45 just had it running!

so nothing's allowed to happen to a boat right before a person is about to sell it? I said it was running this morning just fine. I am asking for help in figuring out what is wrong with it. I already told the buyer about the problem. I wasn't going to sell it unless it was good to go. Don't get your panties in a wad! Thanks anyways. I tried everything. Taking it to my mechanic in the morning. I've had it fixed 3 times now. It has always come back to me working fine. Don't know what else could be wrong with it. I have bad luck with it. Mechanic said he'll figure it out. Buyer said he's cool with it since I've been HONEST with him about everything so far. What else am I supposed to do. Have a boat sit in my yard forever?

Your post stated
I have a guy coming to buy my boat at 6!
The exclamation point at the end is a sign that you're in a hurry to get the problem fixed because you only have a couple of hours before the buyer comes by, right?

You also stated
I've never had it on the lake because it's always had something wrong with it!
so when you say
so nothing's allowed to happen to a boat right before a person is about to sell it?
that is a total lie because you stated yourself that something is always wrong with it and you never had it on the lake because it's full of problems. So you tell me who's wearing the panties, Lassie :p

Your statement of discloser to the buyer are very controdictory to your statements

Re: '72 Chrysler 45 just had it running!

you're absolutely right. after reading what I posted in the beginning I should've worded it differently.

"I have a 1972 Chrysler 45 that was running great this morning. I went to put it in gear and it died. Since then it hasn't started back up. It runs as long as I choke it but it won't idle on its own. I have a buyer, who is fully aware of the issue right now, coming at 6 to get it. He is coming from over an hour away so I don't want this to be a wasted trip for him. Have any ideas on what is wrong with it? I'd appreciate it. Thank you for your time."

I will be sure to never be frustrated with anything ever again even if I have put way more money than it's worth into it and have to take a huge loss on it because I have no time to use it anymore.

Peace
