90hp want more

i have a 1981 or 82 mariner 90hp inline 6, can i get more hp out of it with out internal powerhead mods, i build gokart race motors and this is my personal boat, just looking for more hp. thanks.

Short answer is NO. Additional HP would come from power ported pistons and power ported block and would bring it up to 115 HP. All internal work.

so i have a 90hp inline 6, that i have looked at thats the same block (powerhead),as a 115, ect.

Merc used larger carbs on some models to increase HP

You would have to spend a lot of time and some $$$$, often for just a few HP

Not very cost effective.
