LOL Target Life is what you make out of it . I was not happy at all when the tape mess happened but it was my fault it happened and a learning experiance . I will prevail and my next resto will go easier . This is the first of at least three . The boat in my avatar is next if I keep it long enough and it is fiberglass so it will be much more fun .I plan to 2 tone it as well only red top white bottom for resale so knowing the tape will cause problems if left to long will only help and hopefully will help others from making the sme mistake . I will say if you tpe off something and cant get back to it for a few days take the tape back off . My next Starcraft will be all the better from this experiance .

I guess I should add I have already tried sanding some of the tape fiasco areas with the DA and some 320 and it is feathering out nicely and not peeling further so it was the tape and the fact it got rained on that lifted the paint .

Ok just so Kev knows I'm not goofin off . Been raining here all day off and on soooooooo I took my top out and cleaned it up real good got ll the mildew off of it and it is now in the garage drying good before I roll it back up in the cover .

Thanks Kenny actually amazingly the top looked pretty much new when I pulled the cover off but it had some mildew spots on it from laying in the floor ( deck ) of the boat for who knows how many years so I decided I wanted it clean so that when I get ready to put it on it will look as good or better LOL than the rest of the boat.


Your pond looks great I still need to take a trip south to get the flat rocks for around the edges but theres fish and expensive plants in it now so SWMBO is somewhat happy .

What did you use to clean it with? might come in handy.

I got my slate stones from a neighbors patio they were replacing{freebie } The Mrs here likes ours{pond} as long as she doesn't have to clean the filter{lol} thats it inside the bucket, I pump the water in near the top and let it run thru some fiber and charcoal then it drops back out and aerates as it goes, works well for this small pond.

Kenny on the top cleaner Wall mart brand ( great value ) all purpose cleaner with bleach $1.00 a bottle . I have a freind south of me where I should be able to get all the rest of the rocks I need . He lives on a 120 acre wooded Lot out in the boonies with plenty of rocks

LOL not quite Kev I dont think she will ever be that Pretty but she looks like this right now got one side feathered out and ready for repaint now for the other side . I am having to use 220 to get her feathered out so I know the paint is stuck good LOL.

LOL Kev with 3 coats of red already on her the 320 was just loading up so I switched over to 220 .

Ok Kev both sides buzzed down including hitting the rest of the sides with 320 so the new paint will stick .

ROFLMAO yeppers theres a hydraulic Stool Sample there much easier on the old back and knees to roll down the sides on that little monster than to crawl along . Make sure SWMBO has a good time tonight ( need to keep her happy and Ok with the SS purchase should one pop up ) . I am waiting right now for the water from the wash to finish running off so I can start repainting .

Hydraulic stool Well I guess I did use my creeper to sand the bottom. Hope your painting went well. Can't wait to see the pics!

LOL Bret at 42 I try to find tools to make my life easier and put me in less traction at the end of the day . I should be slinging paint tomorrow didnt get a chance tonight between the boat taking forever for the water to quit creeping out of every nook and cranny and having to go get my 16YO from work . There will be fresh pics tomorrow . I have to ask do you have one of those all terrain creepers I saw your boat porn pics .

LOL yep especially when the tape peels it off . I am getting ready to go out and put a couple more coats of red on her so I can lay the stripes back out and do them over . I will let the red set up for a few days before I tpe it off and will do the stripes quickly so I can get the tape back off post haste .
