You didn't say what size boat or the weight but for reference one of our boats is a 16 foot 1984 Capri open bow. It has an 85 horse Force and goes a legitimate 43mph with aluminum ski prop with 2 people aboard. 43 mph in a boat that weighs only 1000 lbs and turns on a dime is fun in my book plus it can pull any size experienced slalomer with a deep-water start or multipler knee boarders. The funnest part is that it hits top speed 2x as fast as my I/O so at least out of the hole it can beat much more expensive/higher power I/O boats for a good distance. If you have the larger Capri I would opt for the 125HP which I think was the standard outboard option.
