Yamaha 70 - What is this

I was just recently given a boat with a 2000 yamaha 70 2 stroke. I'm trying to figure out what a couple of cables are that are disconnected. I've attached links for the 2 pictures. The first cable is coming out of the lower unit area and the second is near the transom of the boat. Any help on what these parts are and how difficult it would be to replace them would be helpful. Thank you.

pic with the dog in,the two ends should be joined together it should be a tube.the other pic is perfect there is nothing missing!! an adult will be along to explain what they are as i dont really know what they do but its all complete on mine.

that is thge speedo pitot tube hose in both pics. if you dont have a speedo or dont want one simply continue playing.

Thanks for the replys. Is the pitot tubing easy to replace down the road if I end up wanting to do that?
