Surprise Early Birthday Gift.

Well it's my 50th Birthday on Tuesday and as I will be on yet another business trip the children gave me my gift this afternoon.
It is a Minn Kota Endura 36
Never had an electric trolling motor before so any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Best type of battery, approximate hours on a full charge, mounting options etc.

They work a whole lot better if you can mount it on the bow. That motor doesn't draw a whole lot of current so a mid size deep cycle shoud do you just fine. But a bigger battery will give you longer trolling time.

Well, just got back from the business trip late last night.
Thanks for the responses. Yes our children always seem to put some serious thought into gifts and they got it right once again.
I have been looking at the boat and motor this morning and have a couple of options. One is mounting to the bow and the other is mounting to the stern. I am going to make it adaptable for both I think. I will be making any and all brackets etc required and have them either e-coated or made out of stainless if i can find some at the "right price" so I will be making my drawings this afternoon and will start the project on Monday hopefully.
It has to be done by the end of the month as we are all off for the annual Kenmyfamily cottage vacation on the 4th July.
