I made a rookie mistake - ran out of gas this weekend. Got out of the no wake zone hit the gas, engine surged then died. Towed back to dock - filled it up but still won't start. Is there priming technique for this engine?

Take off the fuel water seperater and fill the filter with gas and put it back on. That's all you should need to prime it. Ensure your safety strap is on the kill switch so it's not that. If it still won't start, try to pour a small amount down the Carb. If starts but won't run, you have other issues like maybe a fuel pump..Good Luck.

small amount of gas in the carb did the trick - thanks! I'm wondering if there is a problem with the fuel pump relay - as i understand it the pump should run when the engine is cranked - I'm pretty sure mine didn't start until the alternator kicked in. Now that the float chamber is full of gas I guess it doesn't matter..?
