Color of my '85 OMC Series 400?

I'm still in the process of resealing my OMC upper and lower units...got it back together but I'm outsourcing the resealing of the shift unit-thing...

but on topic, what's the original color of my sterndrive? It has remains of silver and black, probably from previous owners. At any rate it looks pretty rough. Is it supposed to be an off-white?

Not sure if the last of the stringers went silver. If not, it was OMC white. I think you can still get rattle cans with that color.

When I redid mine, I took a part sample to the local paint shop and had them mix a quart of catalytic enamel. I did all the prep work, used a catalytic primer over any zinc Chromate, then shot the whole thing with the catalyzed acrylic enamel.

Now if you ask Bondo, he would tell you rattlecan Rustoleum.
