Johnson 90HP want crank

HELP !!! Johnson 90HP 1996 . When starting the motor is turning, but is not catching and firing up. Turning the starter key engine just turns, but will not crank. thanks

So is the starter gear, the little one above the starter body, moving up to the fly wheel? If not check for obstructions and grease that rod that sticks up above the little gear on the starter. Take out the key and the kill switch and see if you can move the gear up by hand.

Is the starter is turning the flywheel, and the motor is just turning without firing? If so it sounds like your spark plugs aren't firing for some reason. Bad power pack maybe?
