Re: 3.0 manifold water leak

If your lucky you popped a frost plug if your not lucky you have a crack in the block or the manifold or both. now you have to make a decision replace the manifold (thats fairly cheap and easy) and try and fix the block or replace?
I hope your feeling lucky!

nahhhh.... if its right up under the manifold... then you cracked your block. That's were 3.0's crack is right there up high.

Either use a mirror, or pull the manifold and you'll see.

Just took manifold off and block has a 4" crack (gash) between the frezze plugs up high 3" from the top. Anyone know if someone has used jb weld on a crack that size ?

At this point it can`t hurt. drill each end with a 1/8 inch bit, vee out the cracked area with a grinder or dremel, wash the area with acetone, apply the JB ,and let us know .

crack was bigger than i thought about 10 inches. i drilled 1/8 hole at each end applied 2 sets of JBweld let sit 24 hrs. put it back together with new gaskets. ran it 1/2 hr with muffs no visable leaks and temp stayed nice and cool, next test this weekend on the water under a load. will try to upload pics. wish me luck thx dan
